The heart-rending reality is that more than 70% of public transport drivers and those bus drivers who usually take long trips, use drugs. They are addicted to different kind of drugs and drive under the effect of addiction. Sometimes it feels that the luck of poor public of Pakistan is nothing else but poorness, starvation, troubles, and then die faultlessly. A number of innocents daily get victimized to such addict driver’s persecution either in the vehicle or in the middle of a road. Many of the buses and local vans have been raided and half of them were at the spot containing drugs under the use of drivers. Another lamentable fact is that police let them go after taking money if someone from public complains against them.
What’s the fault of those who die in the accidents due to their addiction? Is a life safe in this country? Have we to live in the same terror that any time an unnatural death can be caused to us or our family? Will the government never take notice against such drivers?
